Kicking Out is the story of five young people building a team for a five-a-side football competition. They get help from a coach, Eddie Phillips. Eddie is a good coach but he is also a racist. The young people try their best to ignore Eddie's comments. When the team's star player Showab tells them a terrible secret from Eddie's past the young players have to decide what they believe about racism.
Kicking Out examines and challenges attitudes to racism in both sport and in society and general. It was commissioned by the Kick Racism Out of Football campaign.
